Hi, everyone, long time no post! It’s been a crazy past few months and I’m finally on here to update you all. Since I have a short break from ballet and school (finally), I thought I’d let you know what’s been going on with me. I hope you enjoy the post!
When I look in the mirror, all I see is a fuzzy, though dancer shaped, blob in the mirror. On the rare occasion that I do wear my glasses to class or that I get to stand close to the mirror, my focus disappears. As I’ve gotten older and more advanced, I’ve spent less time dancing in the smaller studios, and now I’m dancing in the larger studios, further from the mirror. Ever since we were small children, we’ve spent our entire lives looking in the mirror, perfecting every minuscule thing.
We’re going to dive right in today, beginning with the age old question: What is the typical ballet body? Today we’ll be going into ideal standards, nutrition, and even talk a little about eating disorders. Enjoy, and try to learn something you didn’t know before today.
